About Me

Hello!

I'm Jill Takemiya, a 3D artist based in Los Angeles. I graduated from Otis in 2010 and since then I've been working in the film and game industries. I started out intending to be a traditional illustrator or concept artist, but upon realizing how much more I could do in Maya than on paper, I switched my interest over to the digital side. I've worked on TV commercials, production company branding, film title sequences and video games. When I was in middle school I wanted to be a paleontologist, and I still do, but until then I'll just settle for modeling and lighting things on my computer.

I'm an avid gamer; adventure games especially capture my fancy, I draw tons of inspiration from my favorite environments from video games. I absolutely love the Monkey Island series, Syberia, The Elder Scrolls, Day of the Tentacle, Tomb Raider and Bioshock.

When I'm working on projects I tend to completely immerse myself into whatever theme I'm currently channeling, and I've got about 50 different music playlists so that I can match them up. This may have something to do with my obsession for theme parks and museums. In my mind, people that design immersive environments for REAL are extremely awesome.

Please take a look around!
